Excuse me while I find a container for my joy.
I'm out of pop. D8

Went to CTRL-A's (Club That Really Likes Anime) second "Big Show" today. I almost forgot about it, but I made it in time for the last three animes shown and for the cosplay contest. Two people teamed up and dressed up as Team Rocket. Hehe. ^^ Anyway.

I missed the first "Big Show" so I wasn't sure what it was going to be like, but I wasn't disappointed. It was held in one of the big auditoriums, so we had a huge screen and a movie projector, and pretty decent sound too. Everyone there seemed to be interesting and quirky in some way, which was neat. ^^ Especially the club pres, VP and other...faculty? Hm. Anyway, they're pretty cool.

I was pretty impressed by how well it was organised. I mean, sometimes the pres would mess up in the fast-forwarding through credits and openings between episodes, but that's about it. They had an entire snack booth in the back, featuring about seven different types of pocky, the contents of what looked like at least two vending machines, and pizza. Yays~! They had a booth for people that wanted to get a membership (like me ^^), and overall, everyone was really friendly.

As I said though, I arrived late, so I only caught 3 animes - Kamichu, Fate Stay/Night, and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, viewing two episodes each. Kamichu reminded me a bit of Lucky Star - it was super-cute, and there were a lot of funny parts. It's about a girl who becomes a god somehow, I'm not really sure how (they were showing eps 3 and 4) but I don't know, it was neat. I'm going to try to download it in the future....eventually. Fate Stay/Night was okay. It was interesting, and had a good plot, but to be honest I got kind of bored really quickly. A lot of it was people talking and explaining things, and even when there were fight scenes, they still played the same, slow, melancholy violin music that made you want to just nod off. I'd still like to see the whole thing eventually, because the plot seemed cool, but it's no priority.

But seriously, greatest anime discovery since Naruto: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Just...OMGOMG, LOL! The story is quirky and weird and funny and cute and everything good. After the first few minutes I knew I was going to be watching the rest of it without being able to stop grinning. :DDD I. Want. It. That guy, Kyon (I wonder what his real name is, if that's his nickname?)...the poor dude. And Haruhi is a really interesting, if not exasperating, character. Just....LOL. The whole thing is full of random funnies. I'm going to see if I can download any episodes off Limewire. Hmm...better get cracking! :DDD

Also found a really well done Haruhi Suzumiya AMV, if anyone's interesting, the url is here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=140609
Too lazy to put it behind a cut. ^^ Download! It's really good.

Anyway...hm. Almost everyone on my floor has gone somewhere for the weekend. I should study, but I think I'm going to decorate my door in a Halloween theme for the building-wide contest, judged by the don. I was thinking Halloween bloody bride, but it might be too hard and take too much time. Maybe I'll just do the typical pumpkins-ghosts-bats-gravestones decorating thing. I know I accidentally brought a lot of my ZHR Scout craft supplies with me, so I have pipe cleaners and popcicle sticks galore. I even have googly eyes. No glue gun though :S:S Should I paint something or just cut shit out of construction paper? LOL Hm, decisions, decisions...I think I'm going to have fun with this. XD

I missed my phone bill deadline. D8 Taking money off my chequing accout = big mistake. I had cheques to deposit onto the account but I forgot about them and only deposited them a day before the bill was due. Deposits take 5 days to go through, so...shit. D:
